I’m Not a Plastic Bag


During a long journey of green shopping bags research and design, I fell in love with those great designers’ items.
The graphics and words on the bags are in charge of waking people up to protect the environment. I believe that the creative and vibrant design can really effect people to change their lifestyle.

‘I’m not a plastic bag’, designed by Anya Hindmarch, the girl from London. The bag is so popular so the people in the States and Hongkong lined up for to buy it. Design effects people, design helps people think in different perspectives.
‘I’m not a plastic bag’ delivers a simple message that caught people’s eyes immediately – we should no long use plastic bags in order to save the environment. On the other hand, the bag itself represents a lifestyle to show us what we should do to make a difference.
Apparently, it’s not easy to promote the eco-friendly bags because people are used to get free plastic bags when they shop in stores, but the successful of ‘I’m not a plastic bag’ shows the hope of using green bags as a substitute of plastic shopping bags .
It proves that making consumers feel special is the way to approach the target audiences. ‘I’m not a plastic bag’ brings the eco-friendly idea and fashion at the same time. The limited release strategy makes people want to collect this design item.

These strategies would be localized and applied to my target city, Shanghai.
