为什么超市要禁止使用塑料袋?

1. 全世界每年消耗的塑料袋数量接近2万;
2. 每个成年人平均使用300个,相当于每分钟消耗100万个。大部分塑料袋在仅仅使用12分钟后就被丢弃,但它们在环境中存在达数十年之久都不会腐烂
3. 我们每年用接近25万桶的油来制作塑料购物袋,从而导致汽油价格上涨;
4. 如果我们少用些塑料袋,那么汽油价格会下跌;
5. 塑料购物袋制造了150万吨的多余垃圾;
6. 塑料袋制造了850万吨的二氧化碳从而导致气候的变化;
7. 分解塑料袋所散发出来的毒素最后都积聚在土壤,水还有食物供应链中
8. 全世界每年大约有一百万的海鸟(如海鸥), 十万的鲸,海龟还有其他海洋动物被塑料袋所杀害。
9. 塑料购物袋最后会被埋到地底下几千年都不会分解。
10. 那些已经开始禁止或者不鼓励使用塑料袋的国家有澳大利亚,孟加拉国,爱尔兰,南非和台湾。孟买,印度也已经禁止使用塑料袋。另外,旧金山和洛杉矶也在实施过程中。

我要补充的是,中国上海,北京等城市也已经开始了禁止超市发放免费塑料袋的禁令。

Why Ban Plastic Bags in Grocery Stores?

  4. Lowers gas prices at the pump, if we use less plastic bags;
  5. Plastic grocery bags produces 1, 500,000 tons of extra garbage;
  6. Plastic grocery bags produces 8,500,000 tons of CO2 which causes climate change;
  7. Toxins from photo-degration (break-down of plastic bags) end up in our soil, water ways and food supply.
  8. About 1 million seabirds, and 100,000 whales, seals, turtles and other marine animals are killed by plastic bags each year worldwide;
  9. Plastic grocery bags that ends up in a landfill will stay intact for thousands of years and is not biodegradable.
  10. Countries that have banned or taken action to discourage the use of plastic bags include Australia, Bangladesh, Ireland, Italy, South Africa and Taiwan. Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India, also has banned the bags. Also, progressive cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles has joined the fight.
